Lastest Street trend fashion

Personally, I have always been fascinated with Hong Kong street style. When I saw these two girls, I would have never thought of combining an oversized vest jersey and all-monotone-look with gladiator sandals or flat shoes; they definitely rocked it!

However, when I take closely look in the runway spring2009, I saw the oversized vest in the collections of these designers such as Alexander Wang, DKNY and Reyes.

Balloon

I has seen many people in Thailand and Hong Kong are wearing these balloon pants, dress and blouses. I think it's somehow could be the new trend that the designers has inspired into their collection.

As I seen, many designers such as Christian Dior, Antonio Berardi, Giambatista Valli, John Galliano, Chloe, Louis Vuitton (clockwise from top left) from fall 2009 fashion week used the idea of balloon pants to adapt into their collections. From the picture, you can see the knee-length tulips and micro mini bubbles to floor-length bell shapes and mini lampshades the skirts. It all had one defining factor to me "voluminous hips"

Tedy boys and high fashion

This runway outfit from Costume National spring 2006 is clearly influenced by the '50s, the style of England's Teddy boys because it's similar in these ways: a long, tailored drape jacket over a waistcoat, collar, and tie and a pair of narrow, striped trousers.

Another picture is from John Galliano spring 2007 that he had inspired by hell-bound Teddy Boys. It's similar in these ways: the frock coats, sequined denims, leopard-print shirts.

Zoot suit and high fashion

This runway outfits from John Galliano spring 2002 RTW is clearly inspiration from zoot suit look because it's similar with an imposing checkered snakeskin and denim into zoot suit.

Here's another inspiration from baggy and flowing pants in the style of 30’s ‘zoot suits’. It were present in Dior Homme fall/winter 2008.

Beatniks and high fashion

Betsey Johnson celebrated 30 years into this runway show that aimed for a "beatnik chic," She seemed to find much inspiration in the '60s and '70s, with a mod A-line minidress, hot pants, and a few off-the-shoulder founcy peasant blouses and dresses.

Another picture is from NY Fashion Week: Marc by Marc Jacobs F/W '08. The Beatnik collection was full of loveable oversized houdstooths, girly dresses and skirts, and berets.

Mods and high fashion

This runway outfit from Kenneth Cole, NY fall 2003 was clearly inspired by early-'60s mods. It's similarly because mini-dresses and skirts were worn with flat silver boots. The clean, simple collection was based around a few basic shapes.

Ben Sherman is another designer that is clearly influenced by Mods look. His new collection for Spring/Summer 2009 celebrating the brand's links with youth fashion and music, which began with the original button down, candy stripe shirts that made Ben Sherman's name with the Mod movement in the 1960s.
It's similar to Mods looks because the model is wearing the classic Mod deck chair stripe blazer. However, it has a new twist with epaulets and a button down breast pocket. It has one button, instead of the classic three. His button down shirt is a sixties style classic with wide stripes.

Hippies and high fashion runway

In this picture, Designer Julia “Lady J” Gerard 70s inspired hippies dresses with peace sign accessories at 2009’s Downtown LA Fashion Week. Her style is iconoclastic and symbolic to the Peace Movement and she prides on displaying that in each detail of her designs.

Another designer is Diane von Furstenberg. She has an inspiration from 70s hippie fashion. It's similar because the model silk flowers and feathers strung from leather cords in her loose hair, and there were all manner of sixties standbys and short tunics.

Disco and high fashion

L.A.M.B. Spring 2008 RTW had really embraced the new electro disco movement with checked mini-dress, metallic dress and black dress.

Gucci Spring 2007 is also clearly influenced by Disco. It's similar when Frida Giannin had inspired by the seventies disco : short black coats and dresses piped in purple, orange, and red and that was grounded with block-heeled flats.

Punk and high fashion runway

When I see this Empire-line in a print of dancing skeletons with the stud high heels, I think it's like high fashion meets punk rock. The runway outfit from Giles s2007 RTW is influenced by a punk fashion to me.

D&G Fall 2003 RTW was about Romantic/punk combinations with huge, dripping-off-the-shoulder blouses, miniskirts, pants and legging.

Hip Hop and high Fashion runway

Hip hop fashion has changed significantly during its history, and today it is a prominent part of popular fashion as a whole across the world and for all ethnicities.

Tommy Hilfiger was one of the most prominent brand in 1990s sportswear, though, Polo Rarph Laren, Calvin Klein, Nautica, and DKNY were also popular. When Snoop Doggy Dogg wore a Hilfiger sweatshirt during an appearance on Saturday Night Live, it sold out of New York City stores the next day. Hilfiger’s popularity was due to its perceived waspiness, which made it seem exclusive and aspirational. Moreover, Hilfiger courted the new hip hop market: black models featured prominently in the company’s advertising campaigns, and rappers like Puffy and Coolio walked during its runways shows.

Another picture is the DSquared2 Hip-Hop fashion show Spring /Summer 2009 collection in Milan. The designer has inspired from hip hop street wear trend to his collection. Hip Hop fashion refers to a distinctive style of dress, originating primarily with African-American and Latino young people around the world that goes hand-in-hand with the expressions and attitudes of the rest of the culture.
